St Martin within Ludgate has been the site of a Dominican (Blackfriars) monastery including the church dedicated to St Martin of Tours since at least medieval times; after the Reformation & take-over it was  destroyed during the Great Fire of London and subsequently rebuilt (architect: Sir Christopher Wren)
